It is marked with celebrations of different kinds, including giving out gifts, feasting, and visiting each other.

Eid el-Adha is celebrated in remembrance of Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his only son. It is marked by offering lambs for scarifies offered to Allah. Islamic religion uses the lunar calendar to mark the dates of their holidays. The New Year celebrations are held in the first month of Muharram (October, November, or December) depending on the Muslim calendar.

Like many other nations, Kuwait celebrates New Year from the Gregorian calendar. It is marked with special events happening all over the country. National holidays are also crucial in Kuwait.
