The kingdom of Denmark celebrates public days that are overseen by the Holiday Consolidation Act 407, established on 28th May 2004. That statute of government is significant as it is superior to all former Holiday Acts and amendments - it supersedes all of them. That very act of law establishes the specific national days that are marked by Denmark. It gives the government the power to set up one-time holidays at whatever time they are deemed necessary by the leadership of the land. This statute provides that any holiday taking place on the weekend must remain on the very date - holiday celebrations are not moved to the next working day in Denmark.

The laws that govern Labor in the kingdom of Denmark state that, every other employee is entitled to pay for national days. Holidays that take place on typical non-working dates are not regarded as paid public holidays. Employment contracts drafted between employer and staff may make it necessary to pay for every holiday, regardless of when such holidays take place.

A vast majority of holidays remembered in this country chiefly derive origin from the Christian faith. Some of such holidays are held on different dates every year since their celebrations are designed in agreement with the lunar cycle. The employers are expected to own up to these holidays, notwithstanding the time they appear in the calendar. The government of Denmark gives the official dates for all national holidays at the end of a year for every other upcoming year.
